Mission-centered Web Strategies

Our clients

The mission of WebPresence / NetPresence.US is to help organizations with a mission carry that mission into the online world. In other words, the goal is to develop mission-centered Web strategies. Following is a list representing some of the range of clients served by NetPresence.

Community newspaper

Mission:  The Clarendon Enterprise, a newspaper serving a rural community in the Texas Panhandle, already had a Web site. That Web site was little more than a one-way repackaging of some of their print stories when Publisher Roger Estlack decided in 2009 to go interactive. The process began with consultations late in the year that produced the shell of a Web site. During the traditionally slow weeks of January and February of 2010, the small staff of the Enterprise began the process of moving old site archives into the new database, developing advertising containers, and preparing for March unveiling. The site was judged best in its class in 2010 by the Texas Press Association.

Public radio station

kohm_125Mission: South Plains Public Radio KOHM FM originally required a simple, straight-forward Web site to provide news and information to the listening public who supports the station. Gradually the station needs centered more on their Web site. They now accommodate network feeds, give site visitors the chance to comment on news, provide current playlists, take donations provide several audio feeds, and are constantly imagining new ways to be accessible through their Web presence.

Local Realtor®

lubbockhomes_125Mission: To provide Lubbock, Texas, real estate clients with easy access to MLS listings, area-specific information, and useful tools for understanding home loan and finance options. Company development projects are also described with maps, photos and appropriate links. The LubbockHomes.info Web site is intentionally kept simple, straight-forward, and informal while providing these useful tools.

College & university administrators

asjmc_125Mission: Administrators of 190 journalism and mass communication programs throughout the United States and Canada who are members of ASJMC maintain a Web site for purposes of association communication. A bold, brightly colored design speaks of leadership and helps overcome the plainness of a site whose content is almost exclusively text based. This site is maintained with traditional tools, but could just as easily reside within a WordPress framework.

Teacher curriculum center

The Curriculum Center for Family and Consumer Sciences trains public school teachers and needed a Web site through which they could extend their services. The site includes two blogs where teachers and trainers carry on various conversations. Each blog is aimed a different group and each has its own personality, design and character. The site also contains a number of resource documents for teachers in the field.

Volunteer network

Mission: To efficiently serve varied interests of a professional organization whose members are dispersed across four continents. Several divisions of a volunteer organization band together to share costs of a “Web condominium” at the AEJMC Network. In addition to having shared server space, each group has private Web space and e-mail discussion list management rights.

High school reunion committee

Mission: To provide a home for past reunion photographs, a central place for announcements of new reunion plans and major events in the lives of graduates. The NHHS62 Web site is the home for the reunion committee of the Newport Harbor High School Class of 1962.

International professional association

aejmc_125Mission: An international association of journalism and mass communications educators needs a central place for communicating with its members. The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Web site provides news, jobs announcements, officers resources, publication archives and more. The site has several hundred static Web pages as well as making use of databases to deliver dynamic content for its members and is planning deployment of a new design in the summer of 2006.
